Preparing for a New Year – Step Two

Yesterday I spoke about acknowledging and truly owning what has gone right for me this year. This is a big deal for me given my basic nature. So in the last 24 hours I have sat with all the wonderful things that have occurred this year. I have reflected on what has grown in terms of my sense of being. I have been present with what has truly fed me this past year.

Now it is time to move to the next step  –  letting go of what do I no longer need in my life (if I am really honest with myself.) For those of us who are people pleasers – accommodators – not worrying about what others think and letting go of what no longer works for us can be revolutionary. So the next step is to ask myself, what can I eliminate? What is peripheral and not really needed in my otherwise busy world? At this stage I am pruning away what no longer is nurturing for me  (thus freeing up time for what feeds and truly grows who I am at a soul level.)

So what are these things/activities/should’s and ought-to’s in your life? Once you identify them you can make the choice to let them go. Give it a chance. Take some time and reflect on what you can eliminate. And, enjoy!
