Widening Your Perceptual Lens

Boy in leaf pile

Here in Virginia, fall is fast approaching. School is back in session, and many find it easy to get caught up in the busyness of life. When this occurs we lose perspective on the bigger picture. It is simply the nature of speed and having lots to do – our perceptual lens shrinks down to just the next goal, and then the one after that, etc. What can we do?

I traveled extensively this summer and into September, and each place gave me wonderful, rich experiences. As I land again on terra firma here at home, I know it is a perfect time to slow down and reflect on what is most important. The need to rest and reflect is high on that list for all of us.

Take some time now to drop inside and check in on how you are feeling. What is inspiring you right now? Do you trust what you know to be true? Do you have a sense of connection with your world? What feels right to step into as cooler weather arrives? All of these questions and more are in my morning meditations these days, which then feeds into my passion to teach and serve others, as well as my relationships with my family, my friends, myself. Come explore with us at HFC this fall – there is much to offer you.

And, enjoy!
