Healing From the Core:
Trauma Recovery to Ecstasy: Healing the Nervous System

The body’s nervous system is a magnificent portal for healing that goes beyond trauma recovery into expanded states of consciousness and ecstatic experiences. Join us as we explore different aspects of the nervous system to heal trauma, drawn from ancient indigenous cultures to modern cutting-edge research. You’ll learn how to stimulate nervous-system remodeling to create a deeper level of healing. And then you’ll anchor the deep changes that take place in this enlightening workshop.

Learn how energy fields and nervous systems are limited by trauma.

Transform and heal trauma using touch, expanded intention, vibration, sound and movement.

Examine a wide range of healing approaches, from ancient indigenous methods to today’s leading-edge energy research on trauma.

Practice hands-on protocols to open and enliven the entire system.

Facilitate others in connecting with their own internal resources, increase their energy flow and reconnect to the present moment.

Kundalini energy phenomenon and other subtle energy flow issues will be covered in detail.

As your nervous system opens and heals at its own pace, drawing you more into the present moment, you will uncover more of your innate creativity, fluidity and joy!

Starting with large group lecture and discussion, we will move into pairs and small groups for more intimate sharing. There will be time off to play and rest as well as to spend in nature.

Suzanne Scurlock, CMT, CST-D (Reston, Virginia)

Suzanne is one of the world’s leading authorities on conscious awareness and its transformational impact on the healing process.

For more than 30 years she has empowered people with practical tools that enable them to experience joy in each moment without burning out. These skills help improve every aspect of their lives, from their health and well-being to their relationships, their careers, their creativity, even the growth of their businesses.

After decades of perfecting her methods of awakening the body’s innate wisdom, Suzanne created the comprehensive Healing From the Core training curriculum in 1994. Today it includes a robust selection of international workshops, webinars, speaking engagements and audio programs.

One of the original instructors personally mentored by the late Dr. John E. Upledger, Suzanne also continues to teach CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release for the Upledger Institute on nearly every continent. What’s more, she collaborated with the late Emilie Conrad for almost two decades. Together they integrated Emilie’s Continuum Movement with Suzanne’s Full Body Presence to teach other practitioners how to accelerate and deepen the healing process.

Known for her honest, grounded, nurturing manner, Suzanne is adept at weaving together mind, body and spirit to create a unique environment that encourages profound healing. She is the author of Reclaiming Your Body: Healing from Trauma and Awakening to Your Body’s Wisdom and Full-Body Presence: Learning to Listen to Your Body’s Wisdom.

Claymont Court MansionOur retreat location, Claymont Court, is located on 369 acres of forest and farmland in the Shenandoah Valley of West Virginia. Fashioned after a design by George Washington, the Claymont mansion was built by his grand-nephew, Bushrod Washington, in 1820 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The mansion is a picturesque and protected environment for our retreat. The country lanes and winding paths around the mansion create a tranquil setting for study, relaxation, and contemplation. Large lawns and quiet woods allow informal gatherings with moments of solitude during intensive activities. Claymont also takes great pride in the quality and variety of its cooking and uses its own organically grown produce, in season.
