Renewing community

The world right now is in flames, literally.

Uncertainty is the overwhelming feeling around the globe.

And when things feel uncertain to this extent, it pushes us into survival mode, where we often isolate and shut down.

Many of us can feel it in our bodies — in the tension in our shoulders, the tightness in our chest, or the sense that the nervous system is working overtime just to hold it all together.

When we live in a state of constant, sustained hypervigilance, we risk losing our empathy for others. And when we lose empathy, communication and community breaks down.

In times like these, one of the most powerful things we can do is something very simple.

Reconnect with those in our community.

Human beings were never meant to navigate life alone. We are not wired for it. Our nervous systems calm and down-regulate through healthy connection.

Our hearts naturally soften when we are in the presence of others who are grounded and present, bringing us back into healthy connection to life itself.

That’s when healing of all kinds can take place - in the presence of another who creates that safe space.

For those of us in the healing professions, we know this to be true.

As CranioSacral therapists and healthcare practitioners, we spend our days holding space for others. We help people regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with their bodies, and move through the stresses and traumas of life.

But in order to do that work well, we also need places where we can reconnect, ground, and be supported.

Practitioners need community too.

One of my deepest commitments over the past four decades has been supporting the practitioners who are doing this work in the world.

Because when practitioners feel grounded and supported, they stay in practice longer.

They are more effective.

They can serve more people.

And the ripple effect of that work spreads far beyond any single session.

The healing spreads out into the world.

This is why community has always been such an important part of what we do here at Healing From the Core.

Whether through study groups, mentoring, professional trainings, or simple gatherings where we practice presence together, these spaces allow us to remember what brought us to this work in the first place.

And they remind us that we are not alone.

Over the past year, many of you have joined our regular online Ground & Fill meditations.

These sessions have become a beautiful place for everyone, wherever they are in the world, to pause, ground and fill their inner energy reservoir, and reconnect with their inner wisdom.

The urgent need for this kind of community grounding and filling feels stronger than ever. So, this past week several of my Master Practitioners volunteered to lead two more sessions in our meditation schedule – bringing our schedule to 5 days/week.

In addition to our three gatherings on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8 am Eastern, we are now adding two new ones happening on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 pm Eastern.

These additional times are much more friendly for those of you in the Pacific time zone and beyond. Or for anyone needing and wanting to end their day in a more calming grounded way.

These sessions are simple, but powerful.

We gather, ground and fill.

Each session lasts about 15 minutes.

Just enough time to remember who you are at a soul level.

That we are all connected.

That we have a rich resource in the earth beneath us that is unconditionally nourishing to the cells of our body.

So we can remember what it feels like to come fully back into ourselves.

When we do this together, something remarkable happens.

The field strengthens.

Our own nervous systems settle.

And the work we bring to our clients, families and friends becomes clearer, steadier, and more effective.

This is one of the quiet ways we can help heal the world.

There is something deeply reassuring about sitting together becoming more fully present, even across a distance. When we gather in grounded awareness, healing naturally happens. We form an energy web of healing light that connects us all and that grows with each gathering. Not unlike the web of mycelium within the earth itself that supports, connects and feeds the trees and all living things.

If you’ve been feeling the pull to reconnect — with yourself, with your grounding, or with a community of people who understand this path —I hope you’ll join us.
