Do You Know How Your Presence Can Be a Powerful Antidote in Stressful Situations?

Want to Effectively Handle Resistance From Your Clients?

Have You Ever Wondered What Your Client’s “Energy Signature” Is? Or Your Own?

Are You Ready to Excel at Holding Space for Others?

Healing From the Core: Advanced Energy Dynamics and Applications I

Move beyond technique to master the process of holding a strong therapeutic presence professionally and personally for the rest of the world. Whether you are a bodyworker, psychotherapist, yoga teacher, coach, or anyone wishing to hold a healing space for another, this course will teach you how to develop richer skills in grounding and widening your energy field. Once you embody these life-changing skills, they’ll be yours for life.

You’ll practice mapping your own energy habits: your strengths as well as how you may lose energy and grounding when faced with overwhelming emotions or challenging situations. You’ll also learn how to rejuvenate yourself more quickly. In addition, you will learn how to track the individual energy flow habits and blockages of your clients and how to help them use grounding to rejuvenate themselves.

Develop richer skills in grounding and expanding your energy field.

Study specific “Energy Profiles” that distinguish ways people compensate for past traumas such as dissociation and addiction.

Practice methods to track a client’s energy flow habits and blockages.

Use your skills in a way that helps others connect with their own internal resources, increase their energy flow and reconnect them to the present moment.

These skills are key in helping people to heal from trauma. They are also key in helping anyone live a richer life full of joy and creativity.

As a professional completing this training you will be empowered to help your clients address deeper emotional issues without being re-traumatized. You will be able to more effectively deal with resistance to the healing process and create richer sessions. You will learn how to work with your own emotional process more deeply, without being overwhelmed or burning out.

The result is more diversity, strength and fluidity in your energy field, which enables you to more fully experience the joy in each present moment.

Instructor

Suzanne Scurlock-Durana, CMT, CST-D (Reston, Virginia)

For more than twenty five years Suzanne has taught and mentored in the area of conscious awareness and its relationship to the healing process. She has developed a uniquely creative approach to energy, presence, grounding and integrative exercises taught beautifully in the Healing From the Core program, which includes a six level training series and a complementary audio series. All of this is based on her years of experience helping fellow healthcare practitioners hold a healing space for themselves, as well as developing their own therapeutic presence for clients and patients. She is passionate about teaching people practical skills that allow them to feel the joy of being present in each moment of their lives, without burning out. To that end, she is the noted author of the book and companion audio Full-Body Presence: Learning to Listen to Your Body’s Wisdom, and is working on a highly anticipated second book, which delves deeper into the intelligence of the human body.

Background
Since 1986 she has been a certified instructor of CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release with The Upledger Institute, teaching both nationally and internationally. She is also on the faculty at Esalen Institute, and provides ongoing staff development training there. For almost two decades, Suzanne collaborated annually with Emilie Conrad, integrating Continuum movement and healing presence.

Venue

Claymont Court MansionOur retreat location, Claymont Court, is located on 369 acres of forest and farmland in the Shenandoah Valley of West Virginia. Fashioned after a design by George Washington, the Claymont mansion was built by his grand-nephew, Bushrod Washington, in 1820 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The mansion is a picturesque and protected environment for our retreat. The country lanes and winding paths around the mansion create a tranquil setting for study, relaxation, and contemplation. Large lawns and quiet woods allow informal gatherings with moments of solitude during intensive activities. Claymont also takes great pride in the quality and variety of its cooking and uses its own organically grown produce, in season.

Cancellation Policy

While we do our best to accommodate changes for our students, a $100 cancellation or transfer fee may apply.
